Frequently Asked Questions

Overall, what is NISA and what about its activity?
NISA is a non-governmental organization that was registered in 2007. It is a venue of students,
graduates, researchers and practitioners to study and instruct a wide range of audience locally and
internationally. To this end, NISA sets up biannual sessions which encompass a huge
geography – around 1000 local and international alumni ranging from the United States to
Japan. NISA sessions touch upon underlying issues of regional and global significance. Apart
from that NISA frequently establishes lectures, roundtables, simulations and conferences that
bring together students of different backgrounds and disseminates information of paramount
importance.

Is there any age restriction for NISA sessions participants?
Graduates, early-and mid-career professionals, researchers are welcome to apply for sessions.

How about English language proficiency?
Fluency in English is essential for participation in NISA events. You should demonstrate a good
command of English to attend NISA sessions. Participant’s language level is determined based
on a written essay and an individual interview.

Under what conditions, participants are trained and accommodated?
NISA sessions invite distinguished local and international scholars and practitioners. Since we
intend to provide interaction among participants and accommodate them throughout the
week, gender balance is necessary in the selection process – 20 male and 20 female local and
international participants. During sessions, it is important for everyone to stay within allocated
place for better engagement. We book double rooms and each of the local participants will be
in a room with a foreign participant.

How about participation requirement?
To participate at session, you should submit the online application, write an essay on a given
topic, as well as upload your resume and sample writing prior to the set deadline.
